About the Ingredients
About the Ingredients
At the heart of every formula is one simple belief: skincare should feel thoughtful, supportive, and easy to trust.
I care deeply about what goes into each product — not just how it sounds on a label, but what it actually does for your skin and why it belongs in the formula. Every ingredient is chosen with intention, balancing skin comfort, texture, stability, and effectiveness to create products that feel beautiful to use while supporting healthy-looking skin.
Rather than chasing trends or filling formulas with unnecessary extras, I focus on ingredients that serve a purpose and work in harmony together.
My Approach to Formulating
I love blending botanical oils, hydrosols, functional actives, soothing extracts, humectants, and skin-conditioning ingredients to create formulas that feel gentle, nourishing, and balanced.
You’ll often find ingredients in my products that are rich in:
- Essential fatty acids
- Antioxidants
- Vitamins and phytonutrients
- Barrier-supportive lipids
- Skin-soothing compounds
- Lightweight hydration
I’m especially drawn to ingredients that help support sensitive or easily overwhelmed skin while still creating a luxurious sensory experience.
Texture matters to me just as much as performance. I pay attention to how a product melts into the skin, how it layers into a routine, and how it leaves your skin feeling afterward — soft, calm, hydrated, and comfortable rather than heavy or stripped.
Ingredients I Love Working With
Botanical Oils & Butters
Plant oils and butters are some of my favorite ingredients to formulate with because of the comfort and nourishment they bring to the skin.
You may see ingredients like:
- Tamanu oil
- Meadowfoam seed oil
- Prickly pear seed oil
- Watermelon seed oil
- Lingonberry seed oil
- Kalahari melon seed oil
- Ivory shea butter
- Blueberry seed oil
- Cloudberry seed oil
These oils are chosen for their unique fatty acid profiles, lightweight textures, antioxidant content, and skin-conditioning benefits.
Hydrosols & Floral Waters
Hydrosols add a soft, refreshing layer to formulations while helping create a more enjoyable skincare experience.
I love working with hydrosols because they can make products feel calming, fresh, and comforting on the skin while adding subtle botanical character.
Functional Actives
I also incorporate carefully selected active ingredients that help support hydration, brightness, skin texture, and overall skin health.
Depending on the formula, this may include ingredients such as:
- Hyaluronic acid
- Green tea extract
- Niacinamide
- Panthenol
- Glycerin
- Ferments
- Peptides
- Barrier-supportive ingredients
I believe actives work best when they’re balanced thoughtfully rather than used aggressively.
Why Preservatives Matter
One thing that’s important to me is being honest and transparent about formulation.
If a product contains water, hydrosols, aloe, or other moisture-rich ingredients, it needs a preservative system to help keep the product safe and stable over time. Preservatives help prevent the growth of bacteria, mold, and yeast — especially in products stored in warm bathrooms or used daily with hands and applicators.
I carefully choose preservatives that are effective, well-researched, and compatible with the overall feel of the formula.
To me, thoughtful skincare is not about fear — it’s about understanding ingredients, using them responsibly, and creating products that are both enjoyable and safe to use.
Gentle, Intentional, and Always Evolving
Formulating has become one of the most meaningful creative outlets in my life. I genuinely love learning about ingredients, researching new techniques, testing textures, and refining formulas until they feel just right.
Every product reflects that process: curiosity, care, patience, and a deep appreciation for both skincare science and the comforting rituals that surround it.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about what goes into my products and the intention behind them.
I’m so grateful you’re here.
